Person Centred Counsellor

Shaun is an experienced person centred counsellor and has worked with many individuals struggling with various difficult issues such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem, bereavement and obsessive compulsive disorders, as well as relationship difficulties and changing life circumstances.

He understands how difficult it can be to reach out for support and aims to provide a warm, empathic and confidential safe space to explore the issues which are important to each individual, hoping to bring meaning and relief. He recognises that behind psychological theories of distress are people and aims to relate to each person in their uniqueness in whatever form that may arrive.

Shaun is passionate about mental health provision and recovery and has spoken on these subjects in the media, including for ITN, regional news, a national conference and in collaboration with Public Health England for Every Mind Matters.

He has worked in both the voluntary sector as well as in private practice and has had considerable experience working with MIND in the Crisis Prevention Service as well as being an experienced group facilitator for individuals struggling with difficult feelings around how they look and those experiencing hoarding tendencies.

Shaun holds an FdSc in Person Centred Counselling and is currently studying for a BSc. He is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and he can also offer telephone or Zoom sessions if required.
