Trainee Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
Matthew is a trainee therapist on clinical placement at The Turner Centre. As part of his training on the MA in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Essex, he offers low-cost counselling with us. His approach to therapy is principally psychodynamic, but his outlook is also informed by the existentialist tradition. He has taught philosophy at the university level for over 20 years, and his academic research has explored the intersection of existentialism and the psychological sciences, including the practice of psychotherapy. Having nurtured an interest in psychotherapy and how it works for many years, he is excited to help clients explore what matters to them most and to better understand what might be holding them back in life.
Matthew is a student member of the BACP and he will complete his MA in 2026.
Fees: trainee rate £15. (Monday mornings only)
